Linda Update

It is me again. I am almost no longer homeless, but still unemployed!

I am in Bailey visiting Ben, Brenda, Amelia and Ella and returning to Pueblo Sunday. We are having a super time. Amelia is just the cutest little thing! What a personality (check out the video). She is crawling and trying to pull up. I don't think it will be long before she walks. Tonight I am babysitting to give Ben and Brenda a date night - I am getting good at putting the kiddos to sleep! Ben is working hard on a new project they are launching on Tuesday. Brenda is working a couple of days a week and has had a change in leadership which is a good thing! They are really busy people.

Owen is quite a crack up! We got along great when I babysat for him. He sings a song by Matt Costa - "Sunshine". I have a video of it for you to see. He knows every word to the song. He talks in syllables and it is so cute, but you have to listen really carefully. Josh is the principal for summer school in Fountain and he also accepted a position as Assistant Principal at Fountain Middle School beginning in July. I helped him clean out his classroom on Thursday. Bree is tutoring on line and really seems to like it. She is able to arrange times around Owen's schedule, which is nice. They are busy doing cooking classes at the Y, and many other activities.

Check out the Logan & Laila videos. I miss them already, but plan to fly out the end of July for a few days. Logan and I really became good buddies before I moved and we had a lot of fun playing in his "forest" in the yard and figuring out how dump trucks and trash trucks work. Laila is a really good baby, very easy to take places - such a joy for Becky & Devin. She is so strong, she is turning her head and pushing away with her arms. Logan loves "baby sister". The transition has been pretty easy. Becky's biggest problem is the two dogs. Devin is working hard being a dad and finishing his dissertation-I don't know how he does it all.

The job search is going slowly, but I am plugging along. I have applied for one school job in District 70 in Pueblo and one federal job also in Pueblo. Cindy has an uncle who knows everyone in Pueblo - he has taken my resume and I think maybe he can be of help. It is hard to Network when you don't know anyone. The Internet is awesome for job searching - Monster has not had too much yet, though.

I had an inspection on the house so we are probably going to ask for the owners to give an allowance for a new furnace and some plumbing. The rest I can take care of myself. My new creation will include a zen backyard with a clothesline and a children's play area, a raised flower and veggie garden probably for next year. I may build a carport, but that will be in the future.
Life with Cindy and her mom (Madelyn) is working out fine for all of us. I am so grateful to have a place to stay. I am getting pretty good at "couch surfing" as Josh puts it.

I miss the people I left behind in Grand Junction and Fruita, but I am really glad to be here, too.

Take care
Love
Linda
