Mid September and still goin' strong

Ben, Brenda and Amelia visited last weekend and we had some work and some play. The weather was cool on Saturday so Ben and I worked on the dishwasher to get it installed. As usual, it took trips to the True Value for parts and troubleshooting. We got it in, but I had to have a repairman come Tuesday to put in a part we couldn't find. All is well now. Amelia is just a load of fun-crawling around, jabbering a lot, and giving lots of hugs (I really like those!)

Sunday we went on a hike at Pueblo Reservoir on a trail I had not been on yet. It was a nice day and Owen is quite the hiker. We split up on the trails when Owen stopped for a snack and ended up hiking in a different directions and did not meet back up until we had circled around on the trail. Hobgoods are noted for vague directions but ending up where they should be in the end. It was pretty funny, we had a great hike and Amelia got her morning nap.

Job prospects are at least showing some action. I have tested at a Temp agency and they have a couple of leads. One is with Pueblo Community College - 1 block away - it is a 520 hour position, approximately 3 months. After that time, I would be back in the pool of candidates testing for the job through Colorado State - at least it would be something for now, however. I did great on Word and Excel tests but windows was not so great, so I went back to do tutorials and re-tested and did much better. Friday I go to the community college for the State testing for previous job applications (2 hours!). I expect as many as 80 people to test, based on resume qualifications. The top three test scores will determine who interviews. I am hoping for a real turnaround in my testing capabilities. I have been known to over-analyze test questions and perform more at a B level. I think I would need more than that to get the top 3. I am eternally hopeful, though, cuz you never know. I have heard no more on local job applications, but I will followup by emails today. Craigs list has had some jobs I have applied for, too. I was pleasantly surprised. I also listed the washer and dryer on the list and sold them for cash in 12 hours, and had 5 responses. It is fun to sell stuff there! They also hauled them away, which was great.

Amelia is just so cute!
Here is a video of her playing and dancing

Laila - another happy baby

September 10 in Pueblo

Becky and Laila visited this weekend and we had a great time. I missed seeing Devin and Logan, but the girls' weekend was fun. Laila has changed so much. I was having camera problems but here are pictures of her. She did great on the flight and car ride. What a delightful baby!
She is going to have quite a head of blonde hair. Most of the pictures I took have her eyes opened like she is scared because my flash takes so long like the one in pink.
Josh, Bree, Owen, Becky and Laila and I went to the river walk one morning and had a great time. Here is Owen sitting on a beaver statue at the river walk. He has become quite the little boy, not so much a toddler any more. He just loved Laila and was so good with her. Mostly he asked "what's Laila saying? (or doing?) It was pretty cute.

Becky and Josh are sitting on a wall at the riverwalk and enjoying the beautiful weather. What great siblings they are!

This is a view of the end of the riverwalk right before it goes back to the naturalized state. It is so nice with kids because the paths are easy for them. Sometimes Owen takes his tricycle on the path. It is really a nice safe place to go.

Job searching is going well. Tomorrow I am going to the temp agencies and try that out. No offers yet, but I have mailed 6 resumes locally, so it is better than the internet.
Ben, Brenda, Amelia and Ella are coming this Friday to bring me the dishwasher and futon. I am looking forward to the visit and will post some pictures! I am getting a little better at this stuff.
I miss all of you and hope to have a visit from any of you real soon.
